Founded in 2002 by Satish Bhattachan born in Nepal, Yak & Yeti Fashion is a family-owned business rooted in Southern California and deeply connected to Nepal - a place we love and a culture that has inspired us from the very beginning. What started with our love for Nepal’s beautiful traditions, vibrant colors, artistry, craftsmanship, and spiritual heritage has grown into a journey we are grateful to share with our customers and community. Inspired by Nepal’s colorful textiles, bohemian spirit, and beautiful handcrafted traditions, we offer clothing, jewelry, bags, accessories, home décor, wellness products, ritual objects, meditation tools, and much more. Many of our pieces are handcrafted in Nepal, where generations-old traditions meet the skilled hands of talented artisans. Each piece helps preserve Nepal’s rich craftsmanship while creating meaningful opportunities for the makers behind it.

For us, business has always been about relationships. We are grateful for the people who have walked alongside us over the years, and we hope to continue building those relationships with trust, respect, kindness, and shared success.

 

Giving Back

 

Our connection to Nepal goes far beyond the products we bring to you. Nepal is part of our family, our heritage, and our heart. Whenever we can, we want to give back to the people and communities that have given us so much.

Education is especially close to our hearts.

In 2025, we provided educational assistance for the children of our factory workers and supported local schools with supplies and resources. We donated more than 1,000 notebooks and five laptops to help give students the tools they need to learn and grow.

We also organized a GoFundMe campaign to help purchase a new school bus for Janagyan Niketan Secondary School in Nepal. Yak & Yeti contributed $4,000, and, thanks to the generosity of our community, an additional $9,300 was raised—for a total of $13,300 toward a bus costing approximately $36,000.

What touched us most was seeing how many people came together to help.

As word of the campaign oversees spread, local villages in Nepal, former students, and community members joined in and contributed whatever they could. Some gave a little, some gave more, but every contribution mattered.

What began as a fundraising campaign became something much more meaningful: a community coming together to take care of its children.

The new bus was finally delivered in July and began serving 150 students with the start of the new school year, providing safer and more reliable transportation to and from school.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make that possible.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. We believe that even small acts of kindness can grow into something much bigger when people come together.
